Only then you will be able to taste the sweetness of it. Anything we do without heart is just a burden. We all talk about different attractive parts of the body, but do you know what the most attractive part of a soul is? Its Kindness. Most of the time, we come with an excuse when it comes to helping others. We feel bad for the poor; we feel sorry for the people who suffer; we wish to help them. But we don’t. Why? Because we don’t feel those things with the heart. It’s just a thought for a particular period in our mind. Because if someone really wants to do something for someone, they’ll do it anyhow. This is when Kindness comes into the picture. Doing the things even when you think you can’t. It is really a superpower, and that’s why only superhuman humans possess it. We are all just ordinary human beings. Who only think for a while, feel for a moment, and in the next moment, we come up with an excuse not to do it.

I will give you guys some examples to understand it better. Why? Because I really want you to taste it, not just see it every day and pass by it. You are getting late for the office, but you found a dog on the street who needs your help at that moment. Now in this scenario, at that moment, you do feel like helping that dog; you even want to help. But in the next moment, you find the excuse that you won’t do that because you don’t have time. You are running late for office. Here we conclude the situation by accepting that we didn’t have the time, so it was impossible to be kind. We could definitely do it if it had some other scenario, where we were having lots of time. Sometimes after seeing someone hungry or poor on the road, you feel bad for them. You want to help too, but in the next moment, you are like, I would have definitely helped if I had lots of money. But I just have this much, so I can’t be kind at this situation. Kindness doesn’t mean giving others what you don’t have; Kindness means sharing from the little you have.

A lot more time, people confuse sacrifices with Kindness. Because people think we have to give what we don’t have. Sacrifice always takes it all. While Kindness always shares. There is a difference between both of them. Sacrifice may or may not come from the heart, and we would do it anyway. But Kindness just can’t happen unless it’s from the heart. Sacrifice may not give us happiness or peace, but Kindness definitely does! Because here we always have a little part of that thing, joy, of that peace with ourselves and part of it is shared with the other. Be kind not just to others but to yourself. Don’t sacrifice yourself for something which is not worth it. Still, if you really want to try it, then give yourself a chance at that thing. And when you realise that it is not suitable for you, then accept that now it’s time to be kind to yourself. Now it’s time to let go of what is hurting you. Be kind even when you make mistakes. Sacrifices may leave us as complex, cold, stiff, extra-logical, insensible, moony, completely selfless, passive numb and unconcerned. But Kindness, on the other hand, will leave us as soft, mild, logical, self-loving, sensible, emotional and peaceful people. This is not philosophical at all, trust me. I have felt regret at times for sacrificing myself and my things for something or someone unworthy. Because I just did it all by being complete selfless for something wasteful. And especially when I could not afford to do that. It did leave me cold and numb for a while. Whereas for the same people, for the same things when I had been kind or I did not put all of me into it, just shared from what I could; that never brought any regretting feeling to my soul.

If any religion, culture, scholar’s of any subject make you feel that for you to be loyal to this thing, you need to be unkind to yourself- then you either need to relearn that religion, culture, or study. There must be something wrong with your interpretation of it or the way someone is teaching you(MODIFICATIONS TO THE ORIGINAL). No religion teaches us to be unkind to ourselves. It might teach us to go hard on ourselves sometimes when we require it but not unkind. There’s a thin line. And we need to understand that. Let go of the things which hurt your soul. Always. At the end of this blog, I won’t ask you guys to start being kind because I know that Kindness comes with MAGIC and not LOGIC.

Be kind because you want to be.
